Calling All Sneakerheads!
Sneakerology 101 will be hosting their third annual Kicksburgh event! Come out tonight to buy some new sneakers, check out live art, and see the work of your fellow students. Tonight at 8pm in Peter, Wright, and McKenna in the UC.
Be sure to wear your flyest pair of kicks!
This past Saturday night Spirit Fashion Show (SFS) took the audience into a world inspired by a classic tale, Alice in Wonderland. SFS used the Alice in Wonderland theme as a means to showcase black history; while we didn’t quite understand what the majority of the show had to with black history we enjoyed the show nonetheless.
As one of the two biggest fashion events at CMU, SFS certainly delivered. The atmosphere of the show was laid-back and more than once we found ourselves laughing at the humor infused into the show. The show was featured cute, kitschy dance routines and runway choreography set to old-school Motown music as well as solid performances by Soulstylz, The Hill Dance Academy Theater, and freshman Ife Kehinde. While we weren’t completely sold on some of the “fashions” displayed at the show, all the models did work! The models put on their fiercest face, worked their baddest strut, and sold whatever outfit they were wearing.
If you weren’t there you missed out on quite the show.
Congrats to the Spirit Fashion Show committe, the designers, and models who put on an excellent show!
